As college campuses are turning more and more hostile, veterans are having an even more difficult time fitting in. Anti-Americanism, anti-military, anti-Christian and antisemitic sentiments are the norm on campuses across the nation. Veterans are afraid to reveal who they are to fellow students and faculty. The ideals they held while in the military are no longer compatible with today's higher education.
Heroes To Heroes has served 523 American veterans and 150 IDF veterans over the past 15 years to great success. Our participants tell us that they wish they had found us while they were transitioning from the military. Heroes To Heroes would have given them the clarity to make better choices in life.
After October 7th, things changed in America. Discourse got uglier for our students. What was generally taboo to speak loudly on campus became the norm. Antisemitism, anti-Christianity, anti-Americanism, and anti-Israelism are now 'just another day' in the life at on campus.
Our veterans on campus are struggling to fit in. Like other marginalized students, they 'play along to get along'. This must change. They need our help dealing with everyday conflicts on campus. Whether being guided on how to speak with a professor who is hostile to the life they've chosen, or to be supported as they work with fellow students on team projects and navigate friendships, Heroes To Heroes will be there for them. Our proven curriculum will help them identify their values and live a life of purpose. They will learn how to handle values conflict in and out of the classroom. During their 10-day journey to Israel, they will explore their faith and learn about democracy and freedom through the eyes of one of our greatest allies.
Every veteran will be supported by a team and coach who will stay with them throughout their time on campus. Helping them be successful academically and as citizens will make our country a better place.
